New Indonesia Visa Policy
Visa on Arrival (VoA) was introduced on Keppres
No. 103 Year 2003 for foreign visitors arriving by air in Jakarta
(Soekarno – Hatta & Halim Perdana Kusuma), Jogjakarta
(Adi Sucipto), Surakarta (Adi Sumarmo), Bandung (Husein Sastranegara),
Semarang (Ahmad Yani), Mataram (Selaparang), Kupang (Ei-Tari), Makassar
(Hasanuddin), Balikpapan (Sepinggan), Bali (Ngurah Rai), Medan (Polonia),
Manado (Sam Ratulangi), Surabaya (Juanda), and Padang (Tabing),
Pekan Baru (Sultan Syarif Kasim II), Batam (Hang Nadim), as well
as sea ports of Sekupang, Batu Ampar, Nongsa, Marina Teluk Senimba,
Batam Center in Batam – Riau Province, Bandar Bintang Telani
Lagoi, Bandar Sri Udana Lobam in Tanjung Uban – Riau Province,
Belawan in Belawan – North Sumatra, Sibolga in Sibolga –
North Sumatra, Yos Sudarso in Dumai – Riau, Tanjung Balai
Karimun in Riau, Tanjung Pinang in Tanjung Pinang – Riau,
Teluk Bayur in Padang – West Sumatra, Tanjung Priok in Jakarta,
Tanjung Mas in Semarang – Central Java, Padang Bai, Benoa
in Bali, Tenau in Kupang – East Nusa Tenggara, Maumere in
Maumere – East Nusa Tenggara, Bitung in Bitung – North
Sulawesi, Soekarno – Hatta in Makassar – South Sulawesi,
Pare Pare in Pare Pare – South Sulawesi, Jayapura in Jayapura
- Papua. In short VoA eligible visitors will pay an entry fee upon
arrival.
The Visa on Arrival is required for nationals of 36 countries.
The Nationals of the United States of America, Australia, South
Africa, Argentina, Brazil, Denmark, the United Arab Emirates, Finland,
Hungary, United Kingdom, Italy, Japan, Germany, Canada, South Korea,
Norway, France, Poland, Switzerland, New Zealand, Taiwan, Oman,
Austria, Belgium, India, Ireland, Kuwait, Luxembourg, Maldives,
Egypt, Portugal, Qatar, People’s Republic of China, Russia,
Saudi Arabia and Spain.
These countries will be able to apply for a VoA
valid for either 1 or 30 days upon arrival in Indonesia. A 1 –
7 day (s) visa will cost USD15.00 while a 8 – 30 day (s) visa
will cost USD30.00
The 11 countries that retain visa free Short Visit
and need not purchase a VoA are : Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore,
Brunei Darussalam, the Philippines, Hong Kong, Macao, Chili, Morocco,
Peru and Vietnam.
Citizens of countries not on the VoA or Visa Free
Lists are required to apply for a visa at the Indonesian Embassy,
Consulate or Foreign Mission.
Indonesia Standard Time
Indonesia has three time zones which are divided
geographically – Wester Indonesia Standard Time equals GMT
plus 7 hours (Meridian 105’E) covering all provinces in Sumatra
and Java, and the provinces of West and Central Kalimantan.
Central Indonesia Standard Time equals GMT plus 8 hours (Meridian
120’E) covering the provinces of East and South Kalimantan,
all provinces in Sulawesi, and the province of Bali, West and Nusa
Tenggara. Eastern Indonesia Standard Time equals GMT plus 9 hours
(Meridian 135’E) covering the provinces of Maluku and Papua.
