There is a verse in a work of classical
literature, used as the national slogan of Indonesia which reads
: Bhineka Tunggal Ika Tan Hana Dharma Manggrua, meaning: different
but one. There is not two, but only one (God truth) The Balinese,
especially those who follow the Hindu religion, are a unique people.
Their uniqueness is even more apparent when it
is adapted to the lifestyles of the third millenium. As a krama,
or as a member of a village attending a traditional meeting in the
village. a Balinese can appear ' nyaput', wearing their traditional
costume, even just previously, they may have been in a meeting with
their business partners, wearing neck-ties and suits in an exclusive
hotel. The followers of the Hindu religion believe that the cosmos
and its contents are creations of god, a gift from God to the human
race to be used to sustain life. Because of this, Hindu literature
teaches that the cosmos must always be protected through its continuation
and hormony.
its sublime conotations are translated in the
philosophy of the Tri Hita Karana. Hindu's belief God/Hyang Widhi,
Who WYAPI WYAPAKA or 'exist everywhere' - including within one's
self - is an order which reminds the people at all times of the
relationship between karma or deeds of human beings to the Tri Kaya
Parisudha, the integration of manacika, wacika and kayika, or thought,
words, and deeds.
