BALI
OVER THE TIMES |
|
Bali, with its unique people and culture, only encountered migrants
in recent times. The indigenous culture can be be traced to prehistoric
times through archeologycalfindings around the island.
From these findings, Balinese prehistory-as is usually the case
in other areas as well-consist of three stages of cultural development. The
first stage was when life was supported by a culture of hunting,
a clear and simple way to sustain the continuity of life.It is hypothesized
that the people of Bali sustained life with simple tools made from
stones,The remains of which havebeen found in the areas of Sembiran
in North Bali and in the highland area of Batur. This period of
transition, which is usually called Bali Kuno (Ancient Bali), which
occurred between the 8 and 13 centuries, changed under the influence
of the kingdom of the majapahit which tried to intregrate the archipelego
through the Sumpah Palapa Gajah Mada at the Begining Of the 13 Century.
In Bali, The Order of Goverment in the structure of the society
adapted to Majapahit govermance.
the collision between the local culture of the Bali Kuno and the
javanese culture of the Majapahit, with marginalized indegenous
Balinese, gave rise to rebelion in verious parts of Bali.
